Welcome to my first post as a blogger. I have been reading Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts, and Other Powerful Web Tools for Classrooms by Will Richardson. I feel strongly about using Web 2.0 tools in the classroom and have been encouraging teachers at my building to try them out. I have been using a Wiki with my Library Science I and II classes and it has been such a convenience. I don't have to search through my well organized file cabinet, LOL, to find a paper that I managed to stick into the wrong file. It is right there on the wiki ready to be downloaded or put in a different place within the wiki. When I find a site I like I can add a link to the wiki and be assured that I will be able to find it when the next semester rolls around and I have new students. Pictures, slide shows, tutorials, videos can all be embedded in the wiki. I started the wiki last fall and since then I have added pathfinder wikis, technology tool wikis and committee organizational wikis. There is just no end to the ways wikis can be used. But now, after starting to read the book by Richardson, I feel like I have to begin a blog. Will I find that there is no end to the ways blogs can be used? According to Richardson I won't.
